This is the last learning journal and I will be quicky. No, it doesn’t mean that I have finished my learning path (it will never happen). But, this is the last one just because I’ve accomplished my goal with these articles: I got a job as a UX Writer!

I was lucky enough to move from a Product Analyst to a UX Writer role within the company. Now I am the very first UX Writer working in our Product Design team and ready to build better products with my understandings about content and product development.

Journaling this path was probably one of the most important tasks that I did
because by doing this I was able to realize/follow up what I was doing to achieve my goal and also finding out what would be my next step. I didn’t stop.

Now, to sum it up, I will list things that were fundamental and really helped me in this journey. If someday a situation like this occurs again, , I might look at this list.

1 — say it

Life coaches probably say something like “fake until you make it” and that is similar to my “say it”. It can sound like silly/nonsense but I assure you that it helped me a lot. When I first started studying UX Writing I immediately told all my colleagues about it. I made a presentation to explain how it could improve our products and even decrease the number of support tickets. Sometime after the presentation, I ran a workshop to understand the words and verbs people use to describe the most important features and this also made people think and experience the importance of UX Writing.

That’s how I told everyone what I was doing.

2 — start now

As I said, I started right on time that I had the idea. I didn't wait to make all the courses, watch all the videos and read all the books. I did what I could and kicked off using the tools that I already had.

3 — write about it

I started this journal :)
